The Eurolino

Our own currency

The “game of life” begins for the children right at the entrance – as soon as they are in, they receive a check that they can cash at the bank in exchange for Eurolino notes.

The Eurolino is the currency of MINOPOLIS, printed by the Austrian National Bank. The design was developed by kids for kids in a Vienna school competition.

On the one hand, the kids get to consume products and services with their Eurolino, and on the other hand, they can earn more Eurolino by active involvement at the different stations. In this way, the children learn one of the prime functions of our society: the economic cycle, which makes it clear to them that one must work for money in order to then be able to buy products and services.

For those Eurolino left over from an eventful day, the children can open a bank account. Of course, the credit saved remains in MINOPOLIS until the next visit and accrues interest just like in real life. Given the variety that all the different areas offer, the kids can engage in new tasks and gather new, valuable experience upon each new visit.
